How can I get an ID Card to Use Medical Marijuana in Arizona?
The Arizona Laws require qualifying patients to obtain a written certification for medical marijuana from a physician who makes or confirms a diagnosis of a debilitating medical condition for the qualifying patient. The physician will attest to having conducted an in-person physical examination of the qualifying patient appropriate to the qualifying patient's symptoms and the debilitating medical condition.
How long will my physician certification last?
Certifications are valid for one year after you medical marijuana card is approved. Make your appointment with us before your expiration date so that you can be re-evaluated and obtain a renewal before your card expires.
A qualifying patient with a medical marijuana registry ID card can obtain up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana every 14 calendar days. This marijuana must be purchased from a registered nonprofit medical marijuana dispensary location. Az Alternative Health can refer you to a registered non-profit medical marijuana dispensary.
Dispensaries are allowed to sell edible food products made with medical marijuana.
Will my health insurance company cover the certification process, physical or medical marijuana application?
No. Insurance companies do not cover this currently.
An individual applying for a Medical Marijuana Registry ID card must have a diagnosis from a physician of at least one of the following conditions:
